Gel 2006 was...
• mind-expanding; easily the best conference I've ever been to; full of great people who were interested in sharing their experiences.
• special in that it focused on hidden potential, which, as Douglas Rushkoff (if I remember correctly) so comically put, if it your potential is hidden, then maybe you're presently engaged in the wrong thing! GEL is a soulful, yet infinitely practical way to amplify your way of being in the world and workplace.
• an amazing amalgamation of information, education and entertainment.
• mindsttttttretchinggggggggggggggggg
• enlightening
• the best yet!
• a place to hear and speak with others as to see you are not alone in the world. There really are people who want to have an impact in changing the world.
• the best Gel yet. The guests are as much a part of the content as the speakers. I am a happily married mom, but I said to a guest who is single that you could probably safely date just about anyone at Gel that you click with; it's a pretty good screen for smart, interested in the world, etc. And you could probably do business with just about any Gel guest you click with for the same reasons.
• all that I expected. The presenters are walking examples of excellence in action and as such, examples to us all that dreams can come true
• My annual one day trip around the world. Obviously, this trip takes place in the mind, where I have the opportunity to explore ideas and experiences that would most certainly otherwise elude me.
• undeniably the best GEL event yet!
• truly a "good experience live"
• exceptionally edifying.
• even better than 05.
• A day and half full of good experiences and wonderful sharing.
• about uncovering the hidden potential of people, places, communities and companies.
• Inspiring
• fun and intense. Met some great, happy and open people.
• reenergizing (and over too quickly).
• eye-opening in terms of the many things that are 'hidden' at first glance - from the ability to understand what someone is thinking through body language to the play potential of graveyards to the entertainment potential of the dictionary.
• inspiring, motivating, funny, you really just have to be there.
• even better than 2005. I enjoy how the experience builds upon itself exponentially.
• a headrush. Words, information and global inspiration got caught in the air.
• fascinating, spellbinding, exhausting.
• groundbreaking. Perhaps the highest plateau of synergy, exploration, and inspiration in the business world today.
• Very inspiring, informative and thought provoking.
• on all cylinders of the experience engine described above
• Another great experience!
• fun, really good.
• a very rewarding and thought-provoking experience!
• a surprisingly intersting experience. The Hidden Potential theme was the catalyst to taking a 180 on normal thinking and open up a wider view of the nuances in life and business that are truly hidden gems. It was a creative outlet which is sorely needed, paticularly in the business environment.
• inspiring and a terrific reminder of what it is I *should* be doing (and maybe miss from my current day-to-day)
• Stimulating, surprising, fun, illuminating and exhausting. I am reliving the experience as I tell others about it and am very glad to have the printed program to bring it all back. So much in so little time.
• exactly as expected, full of unexpected surprises. How unsurprising. How wonderful!
• special, inspirational, thought-provoking, worthwhile.
• just the beginning (for me). Thanks again!
• about optimism. People want things to be better.
• exciting, funny, inspiring, moving, thought-provoking, and fulfilling.
• Awesome, a profound experience, inspiring me to view the world a little differently: anyone and everyone is a "customer" and deserves a great experience.
• the only work-related conference I've ever been to that I would have spent my own money on.
• an eye opener and a mind clearer for me. The path to change looked to be a world of hurdles and barriers, it now seems closer to a clear and obvious path to follow.
• engaging, insightful and inspiring. It was an opportunity to hear a diverse range of people speak passionately about delivering 'good experiences' - and engage personally in meaningful interactions with like-minded people.
• an eye-opener.
• thought-provoking, eye-opening, and in some ways, gave me new perspective on key life experience.
• an inspiration.
• fun. a great time. GEL was even better than I'd anticipated! :)
• thought-provoking, inspiring, and full of good energy - an atmosphere of collaboration and networking to share ideas. People came to learn, grow, and apply their new knowledge,
• my first Gel conference, and I would definitely recommend it to my coworkers next year.
• a way to reach outside my industry, view existing issues through through new prisms, and explore new ideas through existing circumstances.
• Uncovering the hidden potential of an authentic experience
• a very odd event where I was able to relate to a lot of people. It was also an eye-opening experience. Truly inspiring.
• a coming together of people from a wide variety of professions and backgrounds to consider ideas around experience.
• where Fast Company left off. It fulfills an alternative approach to marketing and experiential strategies, combining inspiration with sincere, heartfelt messages about making the world a better place. I would add that it has a lot of soul, something that most meetings lack.
• my first conference, I was hesitant to go to any, because I do not learn via lectures. I am an experiential learner and this conference worked with the way I work.
• a place to gel all of today's technology, customer experience and usability trends.
• So interactive and engaging
• simply transformational.
• a fun, educational networking event that goes well with my profession and interests (usability designer).
• an energetic and inspirational boost. It was also about sharing a community of others who like the energy that comes from cross-cultural, cross-disciplinary conversations.
• outstanding, inspiring and would definitely attend again - even if I couldnąt expense it!!
• Amazing. Incredibly well organized. It was remarkable how you managed to stick to the schedule on Friday.
• fun, didactic, exciting, relaxing, inspiring, confusing, thought-provoking, rich, worthwhile.
• two days of learning to play again and noticing possibilities of hidden potential
• a powerful experience for me to engage with exceptional people from different parts of the country and different fields, all looking to learn and grow in the profession and as people.
• a chance to step back and get a broader perspective by meeting interesting people, sharing ideas, and appreciating differences.
